What is the Rare Diseases and Orphan Products Breakthrough Summit®?

The Rare Diseases and Orphan Products Breakthrough Summit, or NORD Summit, is one of the premiere and largest multi-stakeholder events in the rare disease community. The two-day conference brings together members of the rare disease community from across the globe, including rare disease experts and leaders from patient advocacy groups, government, industry, and academia to share new insights, network in a positive and practical environment, and discuss critical topics in the rare diseases and orphan products field.


When is the event and who can attend?

NORD Summit will be held Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18, 2022. All are welcome to attend! The audience for the NORD Summit typically includes representatives of patient organizations, academic and industry researchers, regulators, health care providers and other stakeholders from all sectors of the rare disease community.


Is the event in person or virtual?

The event will be held in-person at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Washington, DC.

What does it cost to attend?

Pricing for the 2022 NORD Summit can be found on the event website. We try our best to keep costs reasonable and accessible for the entire rare disease community, while also providing a worthwhile and memorable experience for attendees. Money is tight, are there any opportunities for financial support to attend the Summit?

Will CME credits be available?

At this time, the Summit is not accredited for CME credits. Though health care professionals are invited, all program is content is relevant to all rare disease stakeholders, including patient advocacy leaders, academic and industry researchers, and regulators.
